PRESENTATION OF TEAM MOBILITIES AND WORK SHADOWING TO TEACHERS
On Thursday, June 20, 2024, the participating teachers in this year's mobilities shared their experience, the positives and negatives and the good practices they saw in the countries they visited with your teachers from our school and also with teachers from other schools after a friendly invitation.
The presentation was made in chronological order of the movements during the year and not by program section. Initially, the videos that the students had prepared were shown and then the participating teachers took the floor with a simultaneous display of the website of the program or presentation that they had prepared for that day.
The event was welcomed by the coordinator of the program, Ms. Dimitra Dobrou, emphasizing how important this year was and how many opportunities were given to students and teachers (32 students and 14 teachers) to participate in the Erasmus+ KA1 accreditation program.
The presentations started with the reception of September 25-29/9/2023 to remind and compare with the rest of the mobilities.
Followed by the 1st mobility at IES MIGUEL ROMERO ESTEO in Malaga, Spain 13-17/11/2023. Then the mobility participant Ms. Ioanna Karakassiou took the floor, pointing out how impressed she was by two things:
1. The doors of the classrooms remained open during the lesson, as there was silence during the educational process.
2. It was possible for the teacher to use a mouthpiece to make it louder in class.
Then the mobility at the Max-Plank-Gymnasium school in Ludwigshafen, Germany 4-8/12/2023 was presented by the participating teacher Ms. Chrysoula Parousis who underlined, among other things, "... in Germany the students were given the opportunity to see up close the BASF factory, which is the largest chemical factory in the world, and to get to know the purely industrial city of Ludwigshafen as it was formed after the great destruction caused by the bombings of World War 2.
The waste management of the city was impressive, where nothing is left unexploited but they take care of their recycling to produce electricity..."
Third in chronological order was the mobility at Liceo Scientifico Statale C.Peano in Monterotondo, Italy 18-22/3/2024. The speech was taken by the director of the school, Mr. Dimitrios Papadopoulos, who also participated in the mobility. After the presentation of the video, he mentioned how hospitable his Italian colleagues and parents were who drove an hour unprofitably to take them to and from the airport. Even during the mobility, strong bonds of friendship were created between teachers and students. It is characteristic that the participating students in the mobility, although they had hosted in September, wanted to offer a second hosting to the students of Italy in April 2024.
The presentation was completed by Ms. Siopi who participated in the program with the job shadow action, commenting: " ...The teaching at the school in Monterotondo was teacher-centered. The teachers delivered the lesson face-to-face, without organizing cooperative learning models. The teaching was done using interactive tables, the lesson content was not accompanied by the corresponding worksheets and the interaction between teachers and students. I was impressed that the students were handing over their cell phones upon entering the room and placing them numerically in collapsible cases..."
On the same dates, the movement took place in Pamplona, Spain 18-22/3/2024 after it coincided with that of Italy. We are fortunate that the two movements took place in a week in which Holy Monday and March 25, 1821 were celebrated, so that the smooth running of the school was not disrupted.
This is where the philologist Ms. Vicky Lazaridou took the floor, who participated in the job shadow action, spotting ". ..at the entrance of the school there is a sign that prohibits jockey hats, mobile phones and headphones. The classrooms look like ours, but they have 2 blackboards: a chalkboard and an interactive touch one. The teaching is teacher-centered, with lots of questions from the students... "
Last featured was the mobility Zaklagna Skola Ulika Vajanskeho in Lucenec, Slovakia 13-17/5/2024which took place in the last week of classes. Ms. Anastasia Livanou and Pelagia Saltamara shared their experience with the other teachers who had
prepare a small presentation for this day. Among other things, Ms. Livanou described " ...they emphasize cleanliness, that's why students and teachers wore sabos or slippers and groups of students every week cleaned the courtyard area. Among the negative impressions I submit the long-hour educational visit to the Biogas Power Station where, due to the unpleasant smell the students did not attend."The presentation was completed by Ms. Saltamara who participated as a job shadow. Among other things, he emphasized the following " ...I really liked the original board they had. It was a whiteboard and the blackboard was closed with shutters on top. It also went up and down in height, so important for students and teachers! In addition, many children in their chairs had cushions to make them sit more comfortably. The students had the workbook open on their desk, the teacher pointed to the specific page they were working on in the book on the interactive whiteboard. He wrote the correct answers on the interactive so they didn't keep asking if they didn't hear well. Also, the students had lockers with their personal items, something very useful!..."
A short break followed...
